Jennifer Marshall is an Associate Professor and Arseven/Mitchell Chair in Astronomical Statistics at Texas A&M University. She researches near-field cosmology using metal-poor stars to study Milky Way formation mechanisms and satellite galaxy kinematics.
As Project Scientist for the Maunakea Spectroscopic Explorer, she leads development of next-generation spectroscopic technology. She previously contributed to Dark Energy Survey calibration systems and HETDEX spectrograph construction.
Awards recognize excellence in teaching, mentoring, and promoting diversity. Current projects investigate chemical abundances in ultrafaint dwarf galaxies and develop instrumentation for the Giant Magellan Telescope.
