Jennifer Macchiarola

Dr. Jennifer Macchiarola is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Nursing at the College of Staten Island, part of the City University of New York (CUNY). With over 28 years of nursing experience, she specializes in Emergency Nursing and holds a leadership role as Clinical Nurse Liaison. She is a Fellow in CUNY's Student Success Institute, focusing on instructional strategies to enhance student outcomes. Dr. Macchiarola also serves as Corresponding Secretary for Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.

She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Leadership/Emergency Management from Wagner College, alongside certifications as a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Master's in Clinical Management. Her research emphasizes disaster preparedness for mass casualty incidents, cultural competency, and transgender health education. Notable projects include a DNP capstone developing a simulation curriculum for college student preparedness and a medical mission to Haiti.
