Jennifer Lane is Professor of Religious Education and Dean of the Faculty of Religious Education at Brigham Young University Hawaii, where she has taught since 2002. She holds a Ph.D. in Religion with emphasis in History of Christianity from Claremont Graduate University (2003), an M.A. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from Brigham Young University (1994), and a B.A. in Honors History with Philosophy minor from Brigham Young University (1993).
Her research focuses on comparative scriptural studies spanning the Book of Mormon, New Testament, and Old Testament, with specialized expertise in medieval pilgrimage traditions, Christological development, and Latter-day Saint theology. Her publications demonstrate consistent exploration of redemption themes across religious traditions, soteriological models, and the intersection of ancient texts with modern religious practice.
Dr. Lane has received multiple honors including the Faculty Citizenship Award (2019), Exemplary Faculty Award (2010), and Honors Professor of the Year (2007). She has served in key administrative roles including:
- Dean of Faculty of Religious Education (2019-present)
- Dean of College of Human Development (2017-2018)
- Associate Academic Vice President for Curriculum (2010-2017)
She teaches courses on the Book of Mormon, New Testament, world civilizations, and religious doctrine. Her extensive committee service includes chairing the University Curriculum Council and GE Review Working Group.
