Jennifer LaBounty is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Lewis & Clark College. She is affiliated with the Psychology Department and is located in BoDine Hall. Her research focuses on social cognition and emotional development in early childhood, including infant precursors to preschool social cognition and the developmental trajectory of social-emotional understanding.
Education: PhD (2008) and MA (2005) from the University of Michigan; BS (2001) from the University of Oregon.
Research Interests: Investigates how social and emotional understanding evolves from infancy through early childhood, and how these factors influence positive social functioning and psychopathological outcomes such as internalizing/externalizing behaviors. Her work contributes to understanding developmental pathways in early childhood psychology.
