Jennifer Kubota is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Delaware, with a joint appointment in the Department of Political Science and International Relations. She serves as co-director of the Impression Formation Social Neuroscience Lab. Kubota holds a Ph.D. in Social Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her research bridges psychology, neuroscience, and decision-making to address racial equity and intergroup relations, with a focus on neural mechanisms of bias, police-civilian interactions, and social status dynamics.
Her work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, Ford Foundation, Army Research Institute, and others. Notable contributions include studies on racial bias in neural processing, the impact of interracial contact on social cognition, and the neuroscience of white supremacy radicalization. She teaches courses like 'Prejudice, Stereotyping, and Discrimination' and 'The Implicit Mind.'
