Jennifer Kelley is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Western Australia and UWA Oceans Institute Senior Fellow. Her research examines the evolution and function of animal color patterns using interdisciplinary approaches spanning animal behavior, vision science, optics, and computer imaging.
Current research focuses on:
- 3D camouflage strategies in animals
- Evolution of countershading patterns
- Visual perception in predator-prey interactions
- Application of camouflage research to industry
She holds an ARC Future Fellowship for her project '3D camouflage: a novel strategy for defence' and collaborates with defense and mining industries. Her teaching includes courses in Behavioural Ecology and Evolutionary Ecology.
