Jennifer Jordan is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. She also holds an Affiliate Professor role in Urban Studies. Her research focuses on urban sociology, cultural studies, and food systems with particular attention to Germany/Europe and brewing/food traditions. She earned her PhD from the University of California–San Diego.
Key research interests include edible memory, craft beer landscapes, and post-Wall German sociocultural dynamics. She teaches courses like 'The Sociology of Beer and Brewing' and 'Seminar on the Sociology of Culture.' Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical studies of foodways, urban change, and collective memory.
Selected publications include *Edible Memory: The Lure of Heirloom Tomatoes* (2015) and *Structures of Memory: Urban Change in Berlin* (2006). Her media engagements include discussions on beer culture and food heritage. Office located in Bolton Hall 746.
