Dr. Jennifer I. Luebke is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology at Boston University School of Medicine. She also holds an appointment in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Luebke serves as the Director of the Graduate Program and PhD student advisor in her department. She maintains an active research laboratory (X-317, 650 Albany St.) focused on neuronal properties and Alzheimer's disease mechanisms.
Education:
Dr. Luebke earned her doctorate in Anatomy & Neurobiology from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed two postdoctoral fellowships:
- Neurophysiology at Harvard Medical School
- Neurophysiology at Tufts University School of Medicine
Research Focus:
Her laboratory employs whole-cell patch-clamp and intracellular filling techniques to study:
- Electrophysiological/morphological properties of neurons in primate/mouse models
- Action potential dynamics and synaptic transmission
- Effects of aging and Alzheimer's pathology (tau/amyloid)
- Computational modeling of cortical networks
Teaching & Service: Dr. Luebke teaches core Neuroscience courses for medical and graduate students at BUSM and directs the Graduate Program.
Funding: Her research is supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
