Dr. Jennifer Hyndman is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. She holds a PhD and MA in Mathematics from the University of Colorado and a BMath with a Minor in Dance from the University of Waterloo. Her research focuses on natural duality theory, quasi-equational theory, and math education. She has served as Department Chair for over a decade, and previously held roles on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) and as Education Co-editor of the CMS Notes.
- Education: PhD (University of Colorado), MA Mathematics (University of Colorado), BMath with Minor in Dance (University of Waterloo).
Dr. Hyndman’s research interests include quasi-equational theory, subquasivariety lattices, and relational structures, alongside mathematics education. She coordinates mathematics and science conferences for high school students and supervises graduate research in MSc Mathematics, particularly in algebra and statistics-related fields.
Her professional contributions extend to academic leadership, including organizing educational initiatives and advancing mathematical pedagogy.
