Jennifer Hunsaker

Jennifer Hunsaker is a Professional Practice Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling at Utah State University (USU), with a focus on teaching and clinical practice. She holds an MRC in Rehabilitation Counseling (2024), MSS in Human Resource Management (2000), and BS in Communicative Disorders (1998), all from USU. Her career spans over 20 years in small-business consulting, clinical mental health, and education. She is co-owner of Canvi Behavioral Health, a rapidly expanding practice with three offices in Utah and Idaho, specializing in underserved communities. She also serves as a clinician at the Sorenson Center’s Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Clinic, providing care to individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities.

Her teaching responsibilities include courses like Rehabilitation of Persons with Clinical Mental Illness and Disability and Society. She emphasizes inclusive pedagogy and digital tools in curriculum design. Her professional affiliations include the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association and Utah Mental Health Counselors Association.
