Jennifer Harr is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at St. Mary's University, where she also serves as Director of the SET Forensic Science Program. Her work bridges epigenetics, genome organization, and forensic science, with a focus on lamin proteins and environmental toxicology in disease models.
- Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
- M.S. in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Science, University of the Pacific
- B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology, Sonoma State University
In genomics and nuclear architecture studies, Harr's lab uses C. elegans to explore how lamin mutations alter chromatin structure and muscle function. Her environmental toxicology work examines chemical impacts on chromatin, while forensic applications of epigenetics aim to expand criminal justice investigative tools.
The scientific awards she has received include the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. Her recent publications highlight trends in laminopathies, chromatin tethering, and redox signaling, with methodologies spanning bioimaging, genetic models, and histone modification analysis.
