Jennifer Carfrae is a Senior Lecturer at the Scotland's Rural College (SRUC), affiliated with the Edinburgh Agriculture & Business Management school. She holds joint roles in the Agriculture & Land-based Engineering and Horticulture & Landscape departments. Her research focuses on land management strategies, carbon sequestration, and sustainable agricultural practices. She is based at the Peter Wilson Building, Kings Buildings in Edinburgh, and can be reached at jennifer.carfrae@sruc.ac.uk.

Recent Research Activity: Dr. Carfrae leads projects addressing sustainable technologies and green skills development through the Building The Circular Economy initiative (2022–2027). Her work integrates interdisciplinary approaches to balance productivity and environmental stewardship, with notable contributions to peatland management, nutrient cycling studies in peat bogs, and flood retention infrastructure optimization. Over 30 peer-reviewed articles demonstrate her expertise in agroecology and environmental engineering.
