Professor Jennifer Burn is the Director of Anti-Slavery Australia at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Faculty of Law. She specializes in international human rights law, migration law, and legal reform related to modern slavery and forced marriage.

Research Interests:
Professor Burn’s work focuses on combating modern slavery through legal advocacy, policy reform, and community engagement. Her research examines intersections between migration law, family law, and criminal law in trafficking and forced marriage cases, emphasizing survivor-informed approaches and compensation schemes.
Scientific Awards:
- 2016 UTS Deputy Vice Chancellor’s Medal for Research Impact
- 2020 Law Council of Australia Outstanding Migration Lawyer of the Year
- 2022 Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia
Grants & Leadership:
She has led funded projects like the Sexual Violence and Forced Marriage Prevention grants (2024–2028) and co-founded initiatives such as My Blue Sky, a national forced marriage service. She served as Interim Anti-Slavery Commissioner for NSW (2019–2020) and advises the University of Auckland’s Centre for Research on Modern Slavery (CReMS).
