Jennifer Bruder is an Associate Teaching Professor of Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University Qatar and serves as Associate Dean for Research. She teaches courses in cognition, neurobiology, and research methods, with affiliations in the Department of Psychology within the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Education: Ph.D. in Developmental Neuro-Cognitive Psychology from the University of Munich (2008), M.Sc. in Neuro-Cognitive Psychology (University of Munich, 2005), and B.Sc. in Psychology (University of Lethbridge, Canada, 2003).
Research Interests: Focus on neurodevelopmental disorders (autism, dyslexia) and environmental/sustainable psychology in Qatar. Specializes in EEG/ERP studies of reading acquisition, auditory processing deficits in dyslexia, and cross-linguistic neurocognitive mechanisms. Active in intervention research for developmental disorders and cultural influences on cognitive processes.
Publications: Over 20 peer-reviewed articles since 2007, emphasizing neurophysiological markers of dyslexia, genetic influences, and ERP studies of cognitive development. Key themes include mismatch negativity (MMN) analysis and longitudinal ERP studies of reading improvement.
Grants & Labs: Collaborates internationally on NeuroDys cohort studies. Involved in Qatar-focused research on sustainable psychology and cultural cognition. Active in CMU Qatar's educational outreach programs.
