Dr. Jennifer Bouldin serves as Dean of the Beck College of Sciences & Mathematics and Director of the Ecotoxicology Research Facility at Arkansas State University, holding faculty appointment in the Department of Biological Sciences. She teaches core courses including Principles of Ecology, Wetland Delineation, and Aquatic Ecotoxicology while leading institutional academic initiatives.
Her educational foundation includes a BS in Medical Technology from the University of Arkansas School for Medical Sciences (1976) and a PhD in Environmental Sciences from Arkansas State University (2004).
Dr. Bouldin's research program centers on aquatic ecosystem protection through innovative ecotoxicological approaches. She pioneers methods to mitigate agricultural runoff impacts using vegetated ditches and constructed wetlands, with particular expertise in phytoremediation of contaminants via indigenous aquatic vegetation. Her work bridges laboratory toxicity testing with field applications, including watershed-scale assessments using Asian clams (Corbicula fluminea) and development of farm-level environmental risk models. Current investigations focus on nanoparticle fate and effects in aquatic systems.

As Director of the Ecotoxicology Research Facility, she oversees experimental infrastructure for toxicity testing with organisms including Ceriodaphnia dubia and Raphidocelis subcapitata. She actively collaborates on interdisciplinary teaching, notably team-taught courses in Agriculture and the Environment and Aquatic Ecotoxicology, while advancing research on global water issues through seminar leadership.
