Jennifer Bomberger is a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Dartmouth College. Her research focuses on the interaction between bacterial and viral pathogens in the respiratory tract, particularly in chronic lung diseases like Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
- Examines molecular mechanisms governing innate immune induction of biofilm growth in the lung
- Collaborates with physicians in Otolaryngology and Pulmonary Medicine to study pathogen interactions in patients
- Utilizes live-cell imaging, microbiological, cell biological, and genomics approaches
The lab's long-term objective is to identify new therapeutic targets to disrupt chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm infections in CF patients.
