Jennifer Anne Whitaker

Jennifer Anne Whitaker, M.D., M.Sc. is an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine with dual appointments in the Department of Molecular Virology & Microbiology and Medicine. She combines research in vaccine immunology with clinical expertise in infectious diseases, collaborating with the Baylor Vaccine Research Center and the NIH-funded Vaccine Treatment Evaluation Unit (VTEU).

• Education: MD from Indiana University School of Medicine (2006), MSc from Emory University (2012), Clinical Research Residency and Internal Medicine Fellowship at Emory University (2009-2012)

Her research focuses on enhancing vaccine efficacy in immunocompromised populations through clinical trials and team science. Clinically, she provides patient-centered care for HIV, TB, and infectious diseases, particularly emphasizing underserved communities in the U.S. and internationally. She teaches medical students, residents, and infectious disease fellows, integrating vaccinology into BCM’s infectious diseases inpatient rotations at Ben Taub Hospital (Harris Health System).
