Jennie McStotts is an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona, specializing in interdisciplinary scholarship bridging pop culture, heritage interpretation, and pedagogy. She holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (architecture, English, psychology) from UArizona, followed by graduate degrees in historic preservation and law from the University of Georgia. Her career includes environmental legal advocacy and publications on contested historical narratives such as the Berlin Wall and Japanese internment camps. Returning to UArizona, she earned an MFA in creative nonfiction and a museum studies certificate.
Her research explores intersections between creative writing, museum education technology, and feminist analysis of contemporary literature. Current projects include studies on emotional intelligence in male-male romance narratives, interdisciplinary first-year curriculum design, and the efficacy of digital tools in museum learning environments.
Teaching focuses include creative writing, Southwest narratives, photography writing, and honors thesis development. Her published works critique historical preservation ethics, analyze gender dynamics in fantasy genres, and examine cultural memory through public monuments.
