Tyler Dorholt

Tyler Flynn Dorholt serves as Executive Director of Communications and Marketing and Assistant Professor at SUNY ESF. He directs the Writing, Rhetoric, & Communications Program and coordinates the Digital Storytelling Studio while teaching courses in environmental writing, research communication, and creative nonfiction.

Research and creative interests include:

• Interdisciplinary connections between nonfiction writing and photography
• Narrative strategies for communicating scientific concepts
• Place-based environmental storytelling
• Digital media applications in science communication

Published the poetry-photography collection American Flowers and chapbook Modern Camping. Current projects examine how visual-textual integration expands environmental understanding and how storytelling advances scientific discourse. Teaches courses including Writing and the Environment, Research Writing and Humanities, Digital Storytelling, and Creative Nonfiction in the Sciences.
