Jenni Tikkanen is a University Lecturer at the Department of Education, University of Turku, and a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS). She also serves as a Visiting Research Fellow in the Academy of Finland's INVEST research flagship. Her research focuses on youth trajectories, educational segregation, and the interplay between individual reflexivity and societal structures in Finland, Europe, and Australia.
Her research interests include sociology of education, comparative education systems, statistical analysis (particularly structural equation modeling), and life course studies. She actively contributes to international projects like the International Study of City Youth (ISCY) and Education Systems, Learning and Social Change (EduSyS), examining youth experiences and educational policies globally.
