Professor Jenni Judd is a Professorial Research Fellow and Academic Lead at Central Queensland University (CQU), specializing in health promotion and Indigenous health equity. She holds dual roles in the First Nations Academy and the School of Graduate Research, focusing on doctoral supervision and research capacity-building. Her career spans decades in health promotion, policy, and applied research, with a strong emphasis on improving outcomes for Indigenous and culturally diverse populations.
Education: Holds a DHSc (Deakin University, 2006), MPH (James Cook University, 2012), MEd (Deakin, 1994), and a Diploma in Health and Physical Education (Wollongong Institute of Education, 1981).
Research Interests: Public health equity, chronic disease management, Indigenous health systems, and occupational therapy in rural healthcare. She leads projects on Strongyloidiasis control, pandemic preparedness, and culturally safe evaluation strategies.
Publications: Over 90 peer-reviewed articles, including work on animal-assisted therapy in aged care, Strongyloidiasis screening, and nurse navigator roles in chronic care. Recent articles emphasize health systems resilience and Indigenous health policy.
Awards: Life Member of AHPA (2020), Inaugural JCU Advisory Panel Award (2012), and ACHPER Fellowships (1996/2005).
Grants: Secured AUD 5.89 million in competitive grants, including QBCC-funded bushfire resilience projects. Active in CQU’s IMPACT Research Division.
Labs/Teams: Academic Lead of the First Nations Academy, supporting Indigenous HDR students across disciplines. Collaborates with the Centre for Indigenous Health Equity Research and Jawun Research Centre.
