Jenna Johnson is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Co-Undergraduate Coordinator in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Mississippi State University’s Gulf Coast Campus. She holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from MSU (2013, 2018, 2021). Her expertise includes Six Sigma methodologies and Lean manufacturing, with prior industry experience in aerospace, shipbuilding, and consulting.
Research focuses on engineering education, particularly student retention, occupational alignment, and engineering identity. She has published in the International Journal of Engineering Education and is active in professional organizations like ASEE and IISE.
Her Six Sigma projects include reducing hospital pathology turnaround times and addressing material shortages in manufacturing. Certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt via ASQ, she integrates quality management principles into academic advising and curriculum development.
