Jenna Anders

Jenna Anders is a S.V. Ciriacy-Wantrup Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at UC Berkeley, and will join the University of Virginia's Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy as Assistant Professor in 2025. Her research bridges public and environmental economics with policy analysis.

Education:

• BA in Economics and Environmental Studies from Brown University (2016)
• PhD in Economics from Harvard University (2024)

Her work examines regulatory design, environmental program implementation, and welfare effects of social policies. Current projects analyze federalism's impact on regulatory enforcement, welfare eligibility expansions, and market inefficiencies in social connection formation.

Dr. Anders' methodological approaches combine economic theory with empirical analysis to evaluate policy effectiveness. Her job market paper investigates how federal oversight influences state-level environmental enforcement patterns in Clean Air Act and Superfund programs.
