Jelena MacLeod, MD, MHS, is a Clinical Instructor in the Yale Child Study Center and Chief Resident of Digital Psychiatry in the Yale Department of Psychiatry. She holds a Medical Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and a Master of Health Science in Mental Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her research focuses on optimizing mental health screening, trauma-informed care in pediatrics, and implementation science. She is a Physician Builder in the Epic EHR system, specializing in population health and patient-entered data integration.
Dr. MacLeod’s work intersects clinical practice with public health, emphasizing the application of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) frameworks in healthcare and sports safeguarding. Her recent contributions include co-authoring an IOC consensus statement on interpersonal violence prevention in sports and advocating for evidence-based ACEs screening practices.
Her honors include NIH Pediatric Research Loan Repayment Program (2022), NRSA T32 Grant (2022), and AACAP Pilot Research Award (2021). She has been recognized for her interdisciplinary approach to physician-scientist development and health equity initiatives.
