Jeffrey Wilson

Jeffrey Wilson serves as Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Curator at the Museum of Paleontology at the University of Michigan. He also holds affiliations with the Center for South Asian Studies and African Studies Center.

Dr. Wilson specializes in the evolution of reptiles from the Mesozoic Era (250-65 million years ago), with particular focus on sauropod dinosaurs and Mesozoic vertebrates of Indo-Pakistan. His research integrates field and museum studies with computational evolutionary analyses and functional morphology experiments.

His publication record demonstrates ongoing contributions to vertebrate paleontology, with recent work examining sauropod dinosaur morphology and classification. Notably, his research has been featured in the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology and informed the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History's 2024 "Dinosaur Discoveries: Ancient Fossils, New Ideas" exhibit.
