University of Illinois Urbana-Champaignمعرفی
Jeffrey S. Moore is the Stanley O. Ikenberry Research Professor of Chemistry at the University of Illinois, affiliated with multiple institutions including the Beckman Institute and Carle Illinois College of Medicine. His research focuses on polymer mechanochemistry, self-healing materials, and energy-efficient manufacturing. He holds a B.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, with postdoctoral training at Caltech and the University of Michigan.
Research interests include autonomic materials systems, morphogenic manufacturing, and molecular modulators for fibrillar networks. His group develops stress-responsive polymers and energy storage materials through interdisciplinary collaborations. Moore is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and has received prestigious awards like the Stephanie L. Kwolek Award.
Current projects involve mechanochemical transduction, shock wave energy dissipation, and biomedical applications of mechanophore nanoparticles. He teaches undergraduate courses and advocates for inclusive STEM education, emphasizing hands-on research experiences.
