Dr. Jeffrey Lubin is a Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, with a dual appointment in Public Health Sciences. He also directs the MD/MPH dual-degree program at Penn State College of Medicine. His career spans over 20 years in emergency medicine, EMS, and public health research, focusing on patient outcomes in non-traditional medical environments like ambulances and helicopters. He has held leadership roles including Director of the EMS Fellowship, Prehospital Division Chief, and Medical Director of Life Lion Critical Care Transport. Lubin has been recognized with awards such as the National Faculty Teaching Award (2016) and the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (2014).
Education: MD from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (1998), Emergency Medicine Residency at Rhode Island Hospital (2002), EMS Fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (2004), and MPH from the University of Pittsburgh.
Research interests include the environmental impact on patient care in EMS settings, quality improvement, and medical education. He has led initiatives to enhance quality and patient safety programs in emergency departments and restructured EMS fellowship curricula for ACGME accreditation. Lubin frequently presents at national/international conferences on prehospital care and education.
