Jeffrey Ladewig is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Connecticut, Storrs campus. He specializes in American Politics, Legislative Studies, and Political Economy. His research focuses on party and ideological polarization in Congress, income inequality, congressional apportionment, and international political economy. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin (2002) and B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1993), dual degrees in Political Science and Economics. His work has been published in top journals like The Journal of Politics, International Organization, and Connecticut Law Review.

His research interests include political economy models of polarization, effects of income inequality, electoral systems, and trade policy. Notable contributions include analyses of malapportionment in the U.S. House and the role of factor mobility in trade policy. His work bridges theoretical models with empirical evidence, emphasizing real-world policy implications.
