معرفی
Jeffrey H. Lang is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at MIT's School of Engineering, specializing in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). He joined MIT's faculty in 1980 and became a full professor in 1992. His affiliations include the Research Laboratory of Electronics and the Microsystems Technology Laboratories.
Education: B.S. (1975), M.S. (1977), and Ph.D. (1980) in Electrical Engineering from MIT, with a doctoral thesis on electrostatically-shaped reflecting antennas.
Research & Teaching: Focuses on electromechanical energy conversion, MEMS/NEMS, and motion control systems. He has developed high-torque-density motors for MIT's Cheetah Robot and pioneered courses like 6.002 (Circuits and Electronics) and 6.142 (digital control systems lab). His work spans applications in robotics, electric vehicles, and energy harvesters.
Awards:
- Harold E. Edgerton Award (1986)
- Graduate Student Council Teaching Award (1987)
- IEEE Fellow (1998)
Advising & Leadership: Served as EE Graduate Admissions Chair (2012), driving guaranteed support for incoming students. His teaching innovations include co-authoring the textbook Foundations of Analog and Digital Electronic Circuits with Anant Agarwal.
Labs & Projects: Active in cross-disciplinary research through MIT's Research Laboratory of Electronics and Microsystems Technology Laboratories, advancing MEMS sensors and energy-efficient systems.
