Jeffrey Elder

Jeffrey Elder serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He is Chief Medical Officer at University Medical Center New Orleans (Level 1 Trauma Center) and Associate Chief Medical Officer for Emergency Management at LCMC Health.

He holds an MD from LSU School of Medicine, completed Emergency Medicine residency at LSU Health Sciences Center, and a Fellowship in New Orleans Emergency Medical Services.

Dr. Elder's expertise encompasses emergency medicine, disaster response, and health security systems. He contributes to the Region 6 Center for Health Security & Response Readiness, a CDC-funded initiative strengthening public health emergency preparedness through state/local partnerships.

His publication examines public health integration into public safety systems following Hurricane Katrina, highlighting interdisciplinary collaboration models for disaster management.

Honors: Board certifications in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services subspecialty; Fellow designations: FAAEM, FACEP, FAEMS; 2008-2009 Chief Resident at LSU Emergency Medicine.
