Jeffrey Ecker is a Research Professional III in the Center for Vaccines and Immunology at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Infectious Diseases. His research focuses on monoclonal antibody production, stable cell line generation, and cell death pathways in infectious disease contexts. He holds B.S. degrees in Biology and Physics from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (2008). Currently, he works on generating stable cell lines for COBRA influenza vaccine studies at the CVI Core.
Research Interests:
- Monoclonal Antibody Production
- Stable Cell Line Engineering
- Cell Death Pathways in Malaria Infection
Notable Work: His 2017 publication investigated oxidative stress in placental malaria, a critical area in understanding severe Plasmodium falciparum infection mechanisms. While no formal awards are listed, his contributions to vaccine development and parasitology research highlight ongoing scientific engagement.
Labs & Affiliations: Active in the Ross Lab (Translational Vaccine Unit) and CVI Core, contributing to recombinant protein production for influenza vaccine studies.
