Dr. Jeffery Kaufman serves as Assistant Professor of Leadership and Research and Director of Accreditation, Research and Planning at Marian University, while simultaneously fulfilling the critical role of Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) for the NAIA. In this dual capacity, he acts as the essential bridge between athletic and academic departments, dedicating six years to navigating institutional complexities.
His educational background spans Southern Illinois University and Kennesaw State University, forming the foundation for his expertise in leadership systems. Dr. Kaufman teaches specialized courses including Adaptive Leadership, Systems Thinking, Research Methods, Conflict Management, and Program Evaluation, directly applying his research interests to student development.
Research priorities center on Leadership Studies and Systems Thinking with practical applications in Higher Education Accreditation and Athletics-Academics Integration. His work emphasizes real-world problem-solving in institutional dynamics, particularly through program evaluation frameworks. As FAR, he implements his core philosophy—'people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care'—to build trust across campus divisions while managing compliance pressures that he candidly describes as 'ulcer-inducing.'
