Jeffery Chan

Jeffery Chan is a Data Scientist and Researcher at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), where he leads the data science component of a national initiative to develop an AI-driven Learning Health System for clinical decision-making in oncology clinics. His work focuses on integrating precision oncology into routine care through advanced data pipelines and AI algorithms applied to electronic medical records (EMR) and biomedical data, aiming to enhance patient safety and implementation science in healthcare.

• Education: PhD in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (University of Queensland), MPhil in Manufacturing Engineering (City University of Hong Kong), BEng in Mechatronic Engineering (1st Class Honours, City University of Hong Kong)

His research spans artificial intelligence, data engineering, and health systems, with a strong emphasis on implementation science to bridge technology adoption in clinical settings. He has secured significant funding, including a UNSW Research Infrastructure Grant and an NHMRC Ideas Grant (2025-2027), and collaborates with experts in health and technology to advance precision medicine. His awards include the Best Journal Paper (EAIT 2015), UQ International Scholarship, and Australian Research Council Scholarship.
