Dr. Jefferson Shinpaugh is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Physics at East Carolina University (ECU), where he directs the ECU Accelerator Laboratory. His research focuses on atomic collision processes, biological effects of radiation, and material analysis using ion beams. Supported by NASA, NSF, NIH, and DOE, his work explores radiation damage mitigation and tumor cell targeting via nanomaterials.
