Jeff McCormick

Jeff McCormick serves as Senior Lecturer in Agronomy and Associate Head (Animal & Agriculture Science) at Charles Sturt University's School of Agricultural, Environmental and Veterinary Sciences. He teaches AGR203 Production Analysis and Optimisation, AGS301 Weed and Pesticide Sciences, and PSC360 Pastures and Rangelands, drawing on extensive field experience since rejoining CSU in 2016 after roles at NSW DPI and Lincoln University.

He holds a BScAgr from the University of Sydney and a PhD from CSU focused on dual-purpose canola, integrating field agronomy, plant physiology, and APSIM modelling.

McCormick's research centers on pasture management, dual-purpose crops, and mixed farming systems. His work investigates phytoestrogen impacts on livestock reproduction, sustainable pasture-crop rotations for nitrogen fixation, and weed control using allelopathic legumes in rice systems. Key themes address practical challenges in Australian agriculture, particularly reproductive physiology in grazing systems and low-rainfall zone productivity.
