معرفی
Jeff Krise is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. He has held this position since 2004. His research focuses on understanding drug distribution within human cells, particularly the intracellular localization of amine-containing drugs and their concentration in acidic compartments like lysosomes via ion-trapping mechanisms.
Education
- Postdoctoral Fellowship: Department of Biochemistry, Stanford University School of Medicine (2001)
- Postdoctoral Research: Victorian College of Pharmacy (now Monash University), Melbourne, Australia
- Ph.D. (with Honors) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Kansas (1998)
- B.S. in Pharmacy, Duquesne University (1993)
Research Interests
Krise’s work emphasizes drug delivery mechanisms, pharmacokinetics, and the design of prodrugs. His lab investigates how drug localization impacts therapeutic efficacy and pharmacokinetic properties, with recent studies targeting lysosomal drug sequestration.
Labs/Teams
He leads the Krise Laboratory, which explores molecular pharmacology and drug distribution dynamics at the cellular level. The lab is located in Simons Biosciences Research Laboratories, Room 256.
