Jeff Jensen is a Teaching Professor at the University of Washington's School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics, specializing in Biological Sciences. His work bridges ecology, evolution, physiology, and conservation, with a strong focus on ichthyology and salmon restoration.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Biology, Harvard University
- B.S. in Fisheries, University of Washington
- B.S. in Zoology, University of Washington
Research Interests: Dr. Jensen investigates the ecology and evolution of surfperches, emphasizing feeding system evolution and anatomical-ecological relationships, alongside kokanee salmon distribution, history, and restoration in the Lake Washington/Sammamish watershed.
Teaching: Courses include BBIO 180 (Ecology and Evolution), BBIO 335 (Salmon and Society), BBIO 352 (Anatomy and Physiology II), and BBIO 466 (Evolution), integrating lab and field experiences to connect theory with real-world applications.
