Jeff Huston is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Director of the Pharmacy Practice Lab at Cedarville University School of Pharmacy. He concurrently serves as a Lead Specialty Practice Pharmacist at Ohio Clinical Trials, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio, where he manages investigational drug preparations for clinical studies. Appointed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine in January 2021, he serves on the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy until 2024. Previously, he held roles as an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and Lead Specialty Practice Pharmacist at its College of Medicine. Huston graduated from Shenandoah University’s Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy in 2018, crediting its faculty for shaping his career. He is deeply involved in global healthcare through 24 medical mission trips to Honduras with the World Gospel Mission, leading interprofessional teams of pharmacy and nursing students. His career focus emphasizes patient care, education, and advancing pharmaceutical research through clinical trials.

Research interests include optimizing medication safety in clinical trials and expanding access to healthcare through interprofessional collaboration. His work spans academic leadership, clinical practice, and public health policy via his Board appointment. Huston advocates for students to approach challenges incrementally, stating, “Tackle one day at a time as looking too far ahead can be overwhelming.”
Lab/Team Affiliations: Directs Cedarville’s pharmacy practice lab and collaborates with Ohio Clinical Trials, Inc. on drug development studies.
