Jeff D. Muhs

Jeff D. Muhs is a Researcher at the Institute for Entrepreneurship, College of Business, Colorado State University, serving as Managing Director of the Rockies/Plains Energy Accelerator for Commercializing Hardtech (REACH) and CSU's NSF I-Corps Program Manager.

He holds a B.S. in Electro-Optical Sciences from the University of Houston.

His expertise spans entrepreneurship and technology commercialization in energy sectors, with extensive experience managing over $120 million in R&D contracts for DOD, DARPA, ARPA-E, and FHWA programs. He has commercialized three inventions from concept to market and holds 14 patents, focusing on translating hardtech research into viable products.

His distinguished recognition includes:

Mr. Muhs has secured major research funding and shaped national energy policy, drafting provisions for the 2005 Energy Policy Act, contributing to ARPA-E's creation, and testifying before the U.S. Senate Energy Committee in 2009. His prior industry work at WiTricity Corp involved IP fortification and technology licensing for automotive and consumer electronics OEMs.

He leads REACH and the NSF I-Corps program, driving regional innovation ecosystems for hardtech entrepreneurs through mentorship and commercialization support.
