Jeff Brady is an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University's College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from Texas A&M University (2006) and an M.S. in Biology from Tarleton State University (1998). His office is located in Stephenville, Texas.
His research program investigates plant genomics and agricultural microbiomes using next-generation DNA sequencing to characterize germplasm and identify genes involved in stress response. Projects include drought tolerance in peanuts/native grasses, environmental impacts of agriculture on soil/water microbiomes, microbial source tracking, and plant-microbe interactions. He advises student Daisy Gonzalez.
Research spans microbial community responses to agricultural practices, isolation of beneficial endophytes, and genetic mechanisms of stress tolerance. Publications focus on biochar applications, microbiome dynamics, and sustainable forage systems.
His awards section is currently empty based on available information.
Laboratory activities involve DNA sequencing technologies and microbial community analysis.
