Jeff Ackerman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Michigan State University's College of Social Science. His primary research interests include Industrial Organization and Applied Microeconomics, focusing on the effects of franchising on firms and consumer behavior. He has taught courses such as Econ 310 (Managerial Economics) and Econ 445 (Industrial Organization) between 2013 and 2016.
Research Focus: His work examines how changes in franchise status impact business revenues and consumer utility, using advanced economic models to analyze market dynamics. This includes a notable study on liquor-selling establishments in Texas.
