Jeb Barnes is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Southern California. Prior to his academic career, he practiced law as a commercial litigator in Boston and San Francisco and clerked for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Chicago. His research focuses on the intersection of law, politics, and public policy through an interbranch perspective, emphasizing the dynamic interactions among governmental institutions.

Raubenheimer Outstanding Junior Faculty Award (2005-2006), Alpha Gamma Sigma Professor of the Year (2008), and a Robert Wood Johnson Fellowship (2003). He served as a CO-PI for the NSF-funded project "Framed? The Social Construction of Rights and Media Coverage in an Age of Judicialization" (Award #1655281, 2017).
