Jeannine M. Butler, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor in Educational Studies at Saint Louis University's School of Education. She holds an Ed.D. in Leadership in Teaching and Learning from Missouri Baptist University (2016) and a M.A. in Special Education from Fontbonne University (2005). Her research focuses on reducing educational disparities, special education methods, and fostering family-school partnerships through creative arts and movement. She has extensive experience in curriculum design, teacher training, and special education advocacy.

Dr. Butler’s work emphasizes practical strategies to bridge gaps in reading achievement between general and special education students. Her recent publication in the Journal of Special Education Apprenticeship highlights evidence-based interventions for struggling readers. She has received multiple teaching awards, including the Golden Apple Fellow (2020) and recognition for online instruction.

Her professional experience includes 17 years as a District Coach, Interventionist, and Special Education Teacher in Triad School District, where she developed RTI programs and a Maker Space curriculum center. She has supervised practicums and taught courses on special education methods, behavior management, and portfolio development.
Dr. Butler volunteers with All Means All (Teach Plus) and co-founded Triad Middle School’s Learning Café, an after-school support program. She actively presents at educational conferences and collaborates on initiatives to improve teacher-student communication and inclusive practices.
