Jeanne de Vries is an active researcher at Wageningen University's Global Nutrition Department and external employee of Wageningen Graduate School (VLAG). Her academic work focuses on dietary assessment methodologies and maternal-child nutrition interventions.
Her research interests span Nutrition Science, Dietary Assessment, Maternal and Child Nutrition, and Food-based Dietary Guidelines. She has pioneered work on food frequency questionnaires, diet quality evaluation during pregnancy, and the impact of maternal nutrition on infant outcomes. Her recent studies examine plant-based diets' effects on quality of life, microbial intake in Dutch populations, and dietary fiber's role in human milk composition.
Dr. de Vries maintains an active research pipeline with multiple ongoing projects including circadian rhythm nutrition studies and maternal dietary interventions. Her work demonstrates strong translational impact through both academic publications and public health applications.
As an academic supervisor, she has guided at least 15 graduate students through PhD completion, currently serving as co-promotor for several doctoral candidates. Her research program is supported by multiple funded projects addressing maternal nutrition, dietary guidelines, and circadian rhythm impacts on nutrition.
Dr. de Vries actively engages with public nutrition education through media contributions and professional development workshops, translating complex nutritional science into practical guidance for healthcare professionals and the public.
