Jeanne Wanzek

Jeanne Wanzek, Ph.D., is the Currey-Ingram Endowed Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education at Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. Her research focuses on effective reading instruction, prevention and remediation strategies for students with reading difficulties and disabilities, early reading, learning disabilities, and adolescent reading intervention. She holds a doctorate and has prior experience as a special educator and elementary teacher.

Dr. Wanzek leads two federally funded grant projects on reading intervention, offering graduate students research and practical experience opportunities. Her work includes numerous publications and presentations on early reading, learning disabilities, and response-to-intervention frameworks.

Her research and grants emphasize evidence-based practices in special education, particularly in literacy development and intervention strategies for diverse student populations.
