Jeanne-Rose Arn is a Ph.D. Candidate in Law and Philosophy at the University of Cambridge’s Faculty of Law and a Research Fellow at the University of Geneva Centre for Philanthropy. Her work bridges legal theory, moral psychology, and philosophy of mind, focusing on the responsibility of self-deceivers in legal contexts. She holds a dual academic focus on misinformation’s legal implications and corporate social responsibility.
Education includes Law and Philosophy studies at the University of Geneva and Harvard Law School. She previously held teaching/research roles in legal philosophy and tort law at the Universities of Geneva (2018-2020) and Fribourg (2018-2020).
Her research explores how self-deception impacts legal accountability, particularly in cases involving harmful actions rooted in false beliefs. She has also contributed to hate speech litigation defending religious minorities in Swiss courts. Supervised by Prof. Antje du Bois-Pedain (Law) and Prof. Richard Holton (Philosophy), her interdisciplinary approach integrates empirical and normative legal analysis.
