Professeure agrégée at the Department of French-Language Literatures, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Université de Montréal since 2004. Jeanne Bovet holds a master's in Quebec literature (specializing in theatre) from Université Laval and a PhD in French studies from Université de Montréal. She also trained in classical singing.

Her research explores the dramaturgical and scenographic use of voice, intersections of theatre and music, and aesthetics of orality. She co-founded the international research group 'Le son du théâtre / Theatre Sound' and co-edited Théâtre/Public n° 201 on voice in theatre. Current projects include studying microphone dramaturgy (1920–1950) and the ECHO project on modern orality (1950–2000).

- FQRSC grant for 'Inscription de la déclamation dans la dramaturgie classique' (2006–2009)
- ANR grant for ECHO project (2014–2017)
Advising: Supervised 19 theses/mémoires (2004–2025), including works on topics like contemporary Quebec dramaturgy, violence in Baroque tragedy, and catharsis in Wajdi Mouawad’s plays.
