Jean Trottier is an Associate Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of City Planning at the University of Manitoba. He holds a Bachelors in Landscape Architecture from Université de Montréal and a Masters in Urban Planning from McGill University.
His research focuses on urban and public space design, with a strong emphasis on community development. He has served as Past-Chair of Winnipeg’s Downtown Urban Design Advisory Committee and currently sits on the Editorial Board of Landscapes | Paysages Magazine, the Canadian Landscape Architecture Accreditation Council, and the Board of the Council for Canadian Urbanism.
He is a recipient of the CSLA’s Schwabenbauer President's Award (2022). His professional affiliations include membership in the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA), Manitoba Association of Landscape Architects (MALA), Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP), and Manitoba Professional Planners Institute (RPP).
