Jean-Pierre Raffarin

Jean-Pierre Raffarin is an Affiliate Professor at the Faculty Dean's Office of ESCP Business School in Paris. He graduated from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) and has held roles as a senior lecturer at both Sciences Po Paris and ESCP Europe. His career spans academia and high-level political service, including Prime Minister of France (2002–2005), President of the Poitou-Charentes Region, European Parliament member, and Senator (1995–2017). He chaired the Senate’s foreign affairs commission (2014–2017) and currently serves as France’s Special Representative for China (since 2018), Chairman of the France—China Committee, and advisor to the Boao Forum for Asia. His work emphasizes international diplomacy, Franco-Algerian economic relations, and leadership through organizations like the Fondation pour la Prospective et l’Innovation and Leaders for Peace.
