Jean-Paul Haton is Emeritus Professor in Computer Science at Université de Lorraine and Senior Member of Institut Universitaire de France. He founded the first computer science chair at IUF.
His research spans artificial intelligence, automatic speech recognition, knowledge-based systems, and pattern recognition. He directed France's National Project on Man-Machine Communication and served as Research Director at INRIA.
